The imagined reality of ‘MADE IN para:dise’ brought to life

The imagined reality of ‘MADE IN para:dise’ brought to life

Nov 13, 2015 | Posted by jennysd | contemporary art, Gallery at Bank Quay House, installation, MADE in para:dise, Mixed media, new generation landscape art, painting, solo show, urban, Warrington, wood | 0 comments |

It was a fantastic sight to see my new body of work being seen for the first time at last night’s opening preview event at The Gallery at Bank Quay House.

A lovely low-key event, Head Curator Emma Kelly, opened my second solo show with myself in tow and we jointly welcomed in visitors. The venue comprises both a gallery and cafe setting within a busy office building which is great as it means everyday my paintings will be seen by a wide and varied audience. The exhibition has been deliberately devised to keep an open and welcome arrangement. There are a key selection of experimental mixed-media paintings and plinths to showcase the ‘NEON MOSS’ wood pieces leading through to the ‘Im:perfect Para:dise’ hanging tie-dyed, open-framed fabric paintings. Set alongside a backdrop of dazzling vinyl painted ‘nature decals’ on oppositely aligned columns and corresponding plinth, settling spectacularly on the flowering ‘Bird of Paradise’.

The new ‘MADE In para:dise’ exhibition will provide a shot of the tropical as the weather get’s a little colder. What a fantastic evening to receive such positive feedback and warm reception from last night’s visitors.

Here are a selection of the PV show photos and don’t forget ‘MADE IN para:dise’ will be running for the next two months throughout Christmas until Monday 18th January 2016!
