It was the inaugural Open Studio event last weekend in Manchester for Rogue Studios. As the biggest artist organisation located in Manchester, it was a real treat to be able to wander the endless maze of corridors. Each one leading to a magical mini-universe where each artist creates their own special brand of artistic energy.

Having been to this Summer’s Open Studios and focusing on the two first floors. I decided it was the time to investigate the upper two floors, also housing Third Floor Project Space.

There are some truly brilliant studios here at Rogue. From small to large there’s a space to suit someone. Of course I loved the light-filled expanses which only seem to accentuate the artists work. The roomy area filled by the sublime portraits by Lindsey Bull, Mark Kennard’s massive airy space perfect for his giant abstract paintings to the smaller, but perfectly formed ‘light-studio’ of Liz West’s. Sculpture artist, John Quinn, has two studios just walking distance from each other on the 3rd Floor!

There are a truckload of images for you to muse over on my main blog website… click here but here are a few just in case you’re impatient like me!
