Trying to move on from a current series of paintings and develop new work can not only be hard but require a special kind of inner determination. I feel exhausted most days when I paint, not because of the sheer physicality of painting but through the brain-expanding, brain-evaporating, brain-embellishingly draining thought-process required.
Now that sentence has taken even more brain power from me 🙂 Coming up with multiple colour combinations and intriguing compositions has taken up a lot of my time recently. I’m afraid there’s no absolute words of wisdom in this blog, except that you need a self-starter attitude to progress as an artist. Seek feedback too, even if this amounts to ‘constructive’ criticism as this will massively push you further… positively too. Adapt, move forward and keep working.
